The Judicial Branch
Article III of the Constitution established the judicial branch of the US government with the creation of the federal court system. It established the Supreme Court as the highest court in the country. The power of judicial review is when the courts decide arguments about the meaning of laws, how they are applied, and whether they violate the Constitution. The following are the names of the nine Supreme Court Justices who are appointed by the President and hold their positions for life.
